The Thunderbird

The Thunderbird is a subordinate deity encountered as a prominent element in the religious traditions of a surprisingly broad range of the native nations of North America.

Mission Statement

The Thunderbird North American Indian Society (TNAIS) is a UK-based organisation which exists to provide a forum for residents of the British Isles, other parts of Europe, and indeed anywhere in the world, who are interested in associating for the study of Native American history, culture, and language. TNAIS is proud to have members in England, Scotland, Wales, the United States of America, Germany, Russia, and Bulgaria.

We are specifically concerned to promote an understanding of existing links between the peoples of the 'Old World' and the Native Americans, and to participate in the creation of new and positive bonds upon a solid foundation of cross-cultural friendship and mutual respect.
